Clean sweep at our Champ Of Collins tournament

Last weekend we had our very own Champ Of Collins WTN tournament in Rolland Moore in collaboration with Lewis Tennis. The idea is to have tournaments in Fort Collins that gathers the very best players in the area, where they can compete in a fun and competitive atmosphere. It is level based so both adults and juniors compete against each other in the same tournament.

It was a great weekend with lots of competitive matches, fun, and great sportsmanship. All Mathiesen Tennis players did a great job with lots of learning, and we took home both titles with Tyler Van Tassell taking the singles title beating Vinh-Hung Le in the final with solid performances both in the semifinal and final.

The doubles tournament was super close but Carlos Cobos and myself ended up winning the final after many hard fought battles. Not only did Carlos win the doubles title with 4 matches on Sunday, but he played 3 singles matches the previous days. He truly deserves his new nickname "the Spanish machine" - well done Carlos!

Thank you to everyone who participated, the next Champ Of Collins will be August 9-11, and hopefully we can make the tournament stronger every time we play it!
